The long awaited issue is here – the April 2006 issue of Rangefinder Magazine; and we’re profiled in it!
Rangefinder Magazine is a premier monthly magazine published for professional photographers. I’m truly honored to have our work profiled in a prestigious photography magazine.
When I first showed our Storybook Engagment Slideshow to Bill Hurter, the editor of Rangefinder Magazine and the author of numerous fine photography books, he called it “ingenious!!!”.
The Storybook Engagement Slideshow is a carefully produced pseudo movie using sequences of still photos taken during an on-location engagement photo session. The end product is a QuickTime-based movie of the love story of a couple’s pre-wedding days accompanied by a piece of music or a song.
This serves as a great way to introduce each other to the bride and groom’s friends and family by showing it on their wedding day.

Thanks to Bill Hurter for this honor and opportunity!!
ABOUT RANGEFINDER MAGAZINE
Rangefinder Magazine is the leading and fastest growing magazine in professional photography.
Each month you’ll find the pages of Rangefinder packed with profiles on significant professional photographers from around the world; useful “how to†features on both old and new techniques in imaging; the latest in new product information and a never-ending stream of what’s new in the professional photographic community.
Most important of all are the images that grace the pages of Rangefinder, helping our readers stay in touch with the constantly moving benchmark of high quality that sets the standard for professional photography.
It was wonderful to work with fellow photographer Ben again, and to have the opportunity to network with 2 other photographers that Ben invited. It was a great time getting to meet new people, and to support each other in this passionate craft of ours.
The setting of this shoot was graciously arranged by Ben in his mom’s ranch in Tracy, CA — a totally varied and lushed environment to do some fashion and cowboy images.
As the early clouds cleared towards mid-morning, the lighting available was perfect for some outdoor work, especially when a nearby rancher’s horse got walked pass the ranch!

Jennifer Nicole was totally awesome despite the fact that she’s somewhat starting out in modeling. Jumping on the horse with her usual bubbly and cheerful self, the camera lenses of all the photographers present just loved her!

It was a total pleasure to have worked with Jennifer, and I look forward to future shoots with her.
Angie and I got together this time to shoot some location-based fashion images.
The concepts this time included a little retro looks, cowboy theme and some outfits that Angie made herself! Angie did her own styling and makeup. Awesome work as usual, and she had proven to be an experienced and versatile model.
I look forward to our swimwear shoot later on in May.

Alina wrote me soon after I sent out a travel notice via OMP back in February, and we discussed what we are going to work on together.
As soon as she mentioned that Marcel will be working with us as our stylist, I was totally excited and was very much looking forward to it.
Here are some images we shot for fashion, editorial and swimwear concepts around Lake Mead, Las Vegas.
I am totally impressed by her skills in modeling and Marcel’s skills in makeup and styling artistry… I look forward to future opportunities to work with both of them again!
